Kyrgyz President Tells Ministers To Quit Political Parties

April 10, 2006 -- Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiev today told ministers either to stop playing an active in their political parties or to leave office within three days.

Bakiev, addressing a session of the government, said some ministers continue to devote time to political parties rather than their ministerial duties despite laws against being a minister and a member of a party.
