Minister In Karachayevo-Cherkessia Arrested For Corruption

April 13, 2006 -- News reports from Karachayevo-Cherkessia say the transport minister of this southern Russian republic, Ruslan Konov, and three of his subordinates have been arrested on suspicion of corruption.


The suspects are being interrogated.


President Mustafa Batdyyev today signed a decree abolishing the Transport Ministry.
