Abramovich Remains Russia's Richest Man


Roman Abramovich (file photo) (epa) April 20, 2006 -- Roman Abramovich, the Russian tycoon, governor of the Chukotka region, and owner of Chelsea football club, remains Russia's richest man, with a fortune estimated at $18.3 billion by the Russian edition of Forbes magazine.


Conspicuously absent from Forbes' list of Russia's 100 richest men this year is Mikhail Khodorkovsky, the former head of the Yukos oil company who is currently serving an eight-year prison sentence for fraud and tax evasion.


He ranked 21st last year.
