Kyrgyz President Threatens Force Against Opposition

The opposition and civic leaders plan several days of protest starting April 29 to press Bakiev to carry out promised political reforms.
In a statement issued on April 26, the U.S. Embassy expressed concern about what it said were rumors of potential violence during the rallies, and called on both sides to refrain from using force.
