Libya Adjourns Retrial Of Bulgarian Medics

Foreign media attempt to interview the five Bulgarian nurses after their retrial adjourned today in Tripoli (epa)

May 11, 2006 -- A Libyan court today commenced and swiftly adjourned the retrial of five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor accused of infecting hundreds of Libyan children with HIV.

Libya's highest court overturned death sentences in December against the defendants and ordered a retrial.


The six are accused of deliberately injecting 426 children with the virus.
