May 26, 2006 -- Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki is expected to visit Baghdad today for talks with leaders of the new Iraqi government.

Mottaki was originally expected to visit Iraq last week, but the trip was postponed.

Iran has welcomed the new Iraqi administration under Prime Minister Nuri Kamil al-Maliki.

The Iranian foreign minister's trip to Baghdad comes a day before al-Maliki has pledged to complete the new cabinet by presenting his appointments for the key defense, interior, and national security minister jobs.
