Lithuanian Government Collapses

May 31, 2006 -- Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Brazauskas today resigned after the largest coalition party left from the governing coalition.

The Labor Party withdrew amid allegations that leading Labor politicians had misused state funds.


With the prime minister's resignation, the rest of the government is obliged to step down.
