Tajikistan Urges Moscow To Probe Attacks On Students

The Tajik Foreign Ministry today said in a note to the Russian ambassador in Dushanbe, Ramazan Abdulatipov, that Tajik authorities are concerned about the "brutal beating" of Tajik citizens in Moscow.
The call came one day after Moscow's Prosecutor's Office announced that a policeman had been detained in connection with the beating of six Tajik students at a university dormitory.
The students were allegedly beaten with belts and an iron wrench by a group of people who burst into their room on June 7.
