World Cup Sparks Violence In Bosnia

Croatia struggles to contain Brazil's Ronaldo (epa)

June 14, 2006 -- Bosnian Croats and Muslims clashed in the divided southern Bosnian town of Mostar following a World Cup match on June 12 between Croatia and Brazil.

One man was seriously wounded and six police officers were injured in the clash.


The violence began when Bosnian Croats gathered in the town center following Croatia's 1:0 loss to Brazil and encountered Muslims cheering Brazil's victory.
