Militant Killed In Kabardino-Balkaria

August 12, 2006 -- Police in the southern Russian republic of Kabardino-Balkaria say they have killed one suspected militant in a raid near the republic's capital, Nalchik.
Roman Shchekotin, a local Interior Ministry spokesman, said another suspect was wounded in the fighting, and a third fled.
Nalchik was the scene, in October 2005, a bloody clashes between the security forces and militants with ties to Chechen separatists in which around 100 people were killed.
