Nine Suspected Insurgents Killed In Afghanistan

August 22, 2006

August 22, 2006 -- British troops killed nine suspected insurgents in the southern part of the country, a spokesman for NATO-led forces in Afghanistan said today.


Major Toby Jackman said the troops targeted the militants with high-explosive ammunition in Naw Zad district of the southern Helmand Province on August 21. He said there were no British casualties in the clash.
