September 20, 2006 -- Russia is negotiating the sale of an additional batch of military helicopters to Venezuela.
Interfax says that talks are under way on a deal that would envisage the supply of more than 50 Mi-17, Mi-35M and Mi-26T helicopters.
Russia has become the largest weapons supplier to Venezuela following recent deals to sell 100,000 Kalashnikov rifles, 24 Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets, and 53 helicopters.
