October 24, 2006 -- The Georgian parliament has set up a commission to look into alleged human rights abuses against Georgians recently deported from Russia.
Russian authorities earlier this month deported nearly 700 Georgians for alleged immigration violations.
The deportations came in the wake of a spying row.
President Mikheil Saakashvili has said Georgia is considering referring the deportees' cases to the European Court of Human Rights.
