Hassan Nasrallah said in an interview with Hizballah Al-Manar television late on October 31 that the UN mediator entrusted with the issue of the prisoners is meeting with Hizballah and Israeli officials, and the negotiations "are continuing."

"The negotiations are ongoing and we have reached the stage of exchanging ideas -- or, more accurately, exchanging conditions," Nasrallah said.

On July 12, Hizballah captured two Israeli soldiers on the Israeli-Lebanese border in an attempt to secure a prisoner exchange.

The Jewish state retaliated with a massive military offensive into Lebanon that  ended in a truce on August 14.
