November 27, 2006 -- Azerbaijan's Popular Front opposition political party and the "Azaliq" newspaper, which were evicted from their Baku offices, say the government is trying to harass them.

Police cordoned off their offices on November 24 after a court decided businesses in the building should leave because its ownership is disputed.

Officials of both entities say they will appeal in court. Authorities also ordered Azerbaijan's independent television and radio channel, ANS, off the air on November 24 for allegedly operating without a license.
