Jordan's King Warns Of Looming Middle East Unrest

November 27, 2006 (RFE/RL) -- Jordan's King Abdullah has said the Middle East is on the verge of three civil wars -- in Iraq, Lebanon and Israel-Palestine.

The king was commenting on U.S. television on November 26, ahead of a visit to Amman by U.S. President George W. Bush.


The king said there's strong potential for three civil wars to break out in 2007, and he called on Washington to seek comprehensive solutions involving all regional players.
