The director of the Qaddafi Charity Foundation, Saleh Abdelsalam, said today that the relatives of the nurses had been making daily visits since January 10 and will continue to do so until January 19.

The nurses, in custody for more than seven years, were sentenced to death along with a doctor for allegedly deliberately infecting more than 400 children with AIDS at a hospital in northern Libya.

The nurses say they are innocent and the EU and several human rights organizations have called for them to be released.
