February 10, 2007 -- Iran's ambassador to the United Nations has accused the United States of trying to fabricate Iran's involvement in attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq.

Mohammad-Javad Zarif told National Public Radio that Iran has "no interest" in providing weapons to any insurgents in Iraq.

His comments came as U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said there is some evidence Iran is the source of technology for a type of sophisticated road-side bomb used in Iraq.
