February 16, 2007 -- General John Craddock, the NATO supreme allied commander, has said Russia has nothing to fear from a planned U.S. missile defense system in central Europe.

The United States has proposed placing elements of the missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Russia opposes the plan and calls it a threat to its security.

Speaking at a news conference in Warsaw today, Craddock said the system will provide security from attacks by "rogue regimes."
