Ukrainian Parliament Warns Against U.S. Missile Plans
March 22, 2007
March 22, 2007 (RFE/RL) -- Ukrainian deputies have adopted a declaration voicing concern over U.S. plans to place parts of a missile-defense shield in Poland and the Czech Republic, RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service reported.
The document said the U.S. project threatened the national security of Ukraine, which shares a border with Poland.
Deputies said they would ask the government to forward their declaration to the UN Security Council, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and the governments of interested countries.
