Russia Says Iran Made Bushehr Payment

March 26, 2007 -- The Russian state-run company building Iran's first nuclear power plant announced today that Tehran has made its first payment since a financing dispute halted construction of the plant earlier this month.
Atomstroieksport, however, added in a statement that the payment was "still far" from full compensation for the Bushehr project.
Iran has denied missing any payments. The funding dispute came amid the international standoff over Iran's nuclear program.
