April 30, 2007 -- Iran warned today that its crackdown on improper clothing was not a temporary measure, saying that from next week "plainclothes police will go into action."
Tehran's deputy chief of police, Hossein Sajedi-Nia, said travel agencies were asked to warn tourists about Iran's dress code.
Women must cover their heads and conceal their body shapes in public in Iran.
