At least 70 Killed In Iraq Violence

May 6, 2007 -- Reports from Iraq today say some 70 people -- including about 10 insurgents -- were killed in various attacks around the country.


Two car bomb attacks in Baghdad killed at least 40 people and wounded many others.


In Samarra, north of Baghdad, insurgents attacked a police station, killing six police officers.


A battle between unidentified gunmen and Iraqi troops in Baq'ubah left two civilians dead.


In Baghdad, one person was reported killed in a U.S. air raid. In addition, the U.S. military said today that three more U.S. soldiers have been killed in insurgent attacks -- one on May 4 and two the next day.
