Afghan Minister Wounded In Kandahar Suicide Attack

May 17, 2007 -- Afghanistan's information and culture minister was injured today when a suicide bomber targeted a car in which he was traveling in the southern city of Kandahar.

Three civilians were killed in the attack. Kandahar Province Governor Asadullah Khalid said the bomber rammed a car full of explosives into the vehicle.


Khalid said Minister Abdul Karim Khorram suffered facial wounds and was being treated in hospital. Security forces cordoned off the site of the attack.


Earlier, two separate bomb blasts killed 11 police officers in the city.
