Solana Confirms Nuclear Talks With Iran This Week

May 29, 2007 -- EU foreign-policy chief Javier Solana today confirmed that he will meet with Iran's chief nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, on May 31.

Speaking today on the sidelines of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Hamburg, Solana said the talks are likely be held in Madrid. No other details of the talks were given.


The ASEM meeting is also expected to discuss Iran's nuclear ambitions.
