June 5, 2007 - Iran's president said today it was too late to stop Iran's nuclear program and warned the West "not to play with a lion’s tail."
"They should be aware that Iran is a big country," Ahmadinejad said. "Some say Iran is like a lion sitting calmly in the corner. We advise them not to play with a lion's tail."
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Mahmud Ahmadinejad also told the UN Security Council not to impose further sanctions on Iran, saying previous sanctions have had no impact on Iran's economy.
The Security Council has imposed two rounds of sanctions on Tehran since December for its refusal to stop uranium-enrichment activities.
