Azerbaijani President Reacts Cautiously To Radar Proposal

Aliyev said the plan -- if carried out -- would become "a new element" in cooperation with Russia and the United States.
But he stressed that talks would be needed to work out details.
The Russian proposal came in response to a U.S. plan to build a radar in the Czech Republic that Moscow fears could overwatch Russian military moves.
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said on June 8 that Azerbaijan was ready to consider the Russian suggestion.
