Government Adviser Shot Dead In Ingushetia

July 21, 2007

July 21, 2007 -- Gunmen shot and killed a government adviser on ethnic relations in Ingushetia today.

Ingush officials say Vakha Vedzizhev, a top adviser to Ingushetia's Interethnic and Public Relations Ministry, was killed after attackers sprayed his vehicle with automatic gunfire in the town of Karabulak.
 
He died on the way to hospital. Officials say Vedzizhev had recently received death threats.
