U.S. Forces Detain 30 Suspected Insurgents In Iraq

August 12, 2007 -- U.S. forces in Iraq said today they detained 30 suspected insurgents during raids north of Baghdad and in the western Al-Anbar Governorate.

The raids targeted senior leaders of Al-Qaeda in Iraq and bomb-making facilities.


The U.S. military said a large quantity of material used for making improvised explosive devices was seized during the raids, along with the suspects.
