August 26, 2007 -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki today rebuked the U.S. politicians who have called for him to be replaced.

Al-Maliki's response came after two opposition Democratic U.S. senators, Carl Levin and presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, urged Iraqi lawmakers to choose someone else to lead Iraq's ruling coalition and seek national reconciliation.

Al-Maliki said Clinton and Levin "talk about Iraq as if Iraq is their property."

He also accused France of pushing for him to be turned out of office.
