MONDAY, September 17:

Armenia: The Russia-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) holds large-scale military exercises in Armenia (to September 19).

Azerbaijan: Baku hosts the Oil, Gas, and Media conference (to September 19).

Azerbaijan/France: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visits Paris, meets with French President Francois Hollande (to September 18).

Bosnia-Herzegovina: UN expert on minority issues Rita Izsak visits Bosnia-Herzegovina to examine the human rights situation of different minorities, including the Roma and other recognized national minorities (to September 25).

Iraq: Istanbul hosts the Iraq Future Energy 2012 meeting (to September 20).

Georgia: Lithuanian, Latvian, Romanian, Bulgarian, and Czech foreign ministers visit Tbilisi.

IAEA: Vienna hosts the IAEA's General Conference (to September 21).

Lithuania/Azerbaijan: Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev visits Vilnius (to September 18).

Macedonia: EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule participates in the High Level Accession Dialogue in Skopje.

Pakistan: World Council of Churches holds conference on Pakistan's blasphemy law in Geneva (to September 19).

Russia: Russian President Vladimir Putin attends military exercise "Caucasus 2012," in Krasnodar Krai, which ends on September 23.

TUESDAY, September 18:

Armenia/Russia: Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov visits Yerevan to attend the CSTO military exercises.

Armenia/UK: British Foreign Office Minister for Europe David Lidington pays an official visit to Yerevan (to September 19).

EU/Iran: EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton is expected to meet with Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili in Istanbul.

Serbia/OSCE: OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatovic pays her first official visit to Belgrade to meet top government officials, media policymakers, NGO representatives, and journalists.

Pakistan: Pakistani Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf to appear before the Supreme Court in Islamabad.

UN: The 67th regular session of the UN General Assembly opens in New York.


WEDNESDAY, September 19:

Croatia: EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule meets Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic in Brussels.

EU/Georgia: European Policy Center (EPC) hosts a discussion titled "Georgia’s Democratic Transformation And The Parliamentary Elections" in Brussels.

Russia/Kazakhstan: Russian President Vladimir Putin visits Kazakhstan to attend the ninth Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum in Pavlodar.

UN: UN Security Council holds an open debate on children and armed conflict.

U.S./Russia: Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) hosts a discussion titled "New Russian Laws: Tightening the Noose on Free Speech?" in Washington.


THURSDAY, September 20:

Kyrgyzstan/Russia: Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to visit Bishkek.

OSCE/Serbia: OSCE South-East Europe media conference opens in Belgrade (to September 21).

Russia: Sochi hosts the International Investment Forum (to September 23).

Serbia: Belgrade Security Forum opens (to September 21).

Ukraine/Poland: Ukrainian and Polish presidents, Viktor Yanukovych and Bronislaw Komorowski, open a cemetery for Polish officers executed in 1940 in Bykivnia.

UN/Afghanistan: UN Security Council holds its quarterly debate on the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).

Uzbekistan/South Korea: Uzbek President Islam Karimov meets South Korean President Lee Myung-bak in Seoul.


FRIDAY, September 21:

Armenia: Independence Day.

UN: International Peace Day.

World: World Alzheimer's Day.


SATURDAY, September 22:

SUNDAY, September 23:

Belarus: Parliamentary elections.

CIS: The agreement on free-trade-zone within eight countries of the CIS goes into effect.

U.S.: New York hosts an annual Clinton Global Initiative meeting (to September 25).
