NATO: Carnegie Europe in Brussels hosts a discussion titled "The World in 2020 — Can NATO Protect Us?"

Tajikistan: Tajikistan is expected to officially join the World Trade Organization.

Ukraine/India: Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych visits New Delhi (to December 12).

UN: World Human Rights Day.

World: Nobel Peace Prize for 2012 to be awarded in Oslo.                         

TUESDAY, December 11:

Georgia/Russia: The next round of the Geneva talks between Georgia and Russia to be held in Switzerland.

Germany/Kyrgyzstan: German Chancellor Angela Merkel holds talks with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambaev.

Russia/CIS: Moscow hosts a meeting of the CIS countries' defense ministers.

Russia/G20: Moscow hosts G20 Sherpas' meeting (to December 12).

UK/Georgia: Chatham House in London hosts a discussion titled "Political Developments and Prospects for Conflict Resolution in the Georgian-Abkhaz Context."

World: The Committee to Protect Journalist publishes the 2012 Imprisoned Journalists report.

WEDNESDAY, December 12:

EU: Ceremony for the awarding of Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought 2012 in Strasbourg.

Iran: Tehran hosts an international conference on sustainable urban energy (to December 13).

Russia: Constitution Day. Russian President Vladimir Putin delivers his annual address to the Federal Assembly in Moscow.

Turkmenistan: Neutrality Day.
