MONDAY April 22:

CoE: Spring plenary session for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) opens in Strasbourg (to April 26).

CoE/Armenia: The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) holds a debate on Armenia in Strasbourg.

EU: General Affairs Council meets in Luxembourg to take note of reports on Serbia, Kosovo, and Macedonia (to April 23).

EU: Foreign Affairs Council meets in Luxembourg to discuss developments in EU's southern neighborhood, especially Syria and Lebanon (to April 23).

Georgia/Czech Republic: Prague holds Tbilisi Days, featuring various exhibitions and events (to April 24).

U.S./Central Asia: U.S. Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake travels to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan (to April 26).

World: Earth Day

TUESDAY April 23:

Afghanistan/Pakistan: U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry hosts a meeting of Afghan President Hamid Karzai and his defense minister, along with Pakistan's military chief and foreign secretary, in Brussels.

Bosnia-Herzegovina/Serbia: Bosnian Presidency members Bakir Izetbegovic and Nebojsa Radmanovic are scheduled to visit Belgrade.

Georgia: Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili to address the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg.

NATO: Foreign ministerial meetings begin in Brussels.

Russia/U.S.: U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry meets with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of a Russia-NATO ministerial summit in Brussels.

UN: World Book and Copyright Day.


Armenia: Armenians mark Genocide Remembrance Day.

Russia: The trial of opposition leader Aleksei Navalny resumes in Kirov.

Russia: Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch launch their reports on Russia, analyzing new and amended legislation and the way it has been applied.

THURSDAY April 25:

Poland/Ukraine: Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski travels to Kyiv for an official visit.

Russia: A Moscow court is expected to announce its verdict in the case of opposition member Konstantin Lebedev.

Russia: Russian President Vladimir Putin holds a live televised question-and-answer session, during which he will respond to questions from the public about the political and socioeconomic life of the country.

World: World Malaria Day.

FRIDAY April 26:

Asia: Kazakhstan hosts a ministerial meeting of the Istanbul Process countries.

World: World Intellectual Property Day.
