The former deputy mayor of Moscow, Aleksandr Ryabinin, has received a suspended three-year jail sentence for fraud.
A court in Moscow found Ryabinin guilty of illegally obtaining a nonresidential property in Moscow while being in office.
Ryabinin's lawyers say they will appeal the verdict.
The court dropped a separate charge of abuse of office that was initially put forward against Ryabinin.
Ryabinin was deputy mayor of Moscow during Yury Luzhkov's tenure as mayor.
Luzhkov was dismissed by then-President Dmitry Medvedev in September 2010 for, as it was officially announced, "loss of trust."
