Media reports say deposed president Muhammad Morsi and 132 others will stand trial over a prison breakout by members of his Muslim Brotherhood movement in 2011.

The reports quote prosecution sources as saying privately on December 21 that the other defendants include some of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood who escaped from Wadi al-Natrun prison during the revolt against former President Hosni Mubarak.

Morsi, ousted in July by the military, already faces two other trials.

In one of them, he is charged with sponsoring terrorism and harming national security by conspiring with foreign organizations.

A separate trial, in which he is accused of inciting the killings of opposition activists during his one year as Egypt's elected president, will resume on January 8.
