French voters have been going to the polls in a parliamentary election runoff that seems likely to give a clear majority to the Socialist Party of President Francois Hollande.

Polls show the Socialists winning between 287 and 330 seats in the 577-seat National Assembly, with the closely allied Green Party expected to win another 20 seats.

Polls also indicate that the right-wing Nationalist Party led by Marine Le Pen could gain a number of seats, which would be a symbolic victory for the staunchly antiimmigration, antieuro party.

A majority in the National Assembly would give the Socialists -- who already control the presidency, the Senate, and many local governments -- a solid hold on power in France.
