The world athletics governing body has said it will decide in a meeting in June whether it will allow Russian athletes to compete at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) said in a statement on April 21 that its council will convene on June 17 in Vienna.
Russia remains banned from international track and field, including the Olympics, after the country's athletics federation was suspended by the IAAF in November following allegations of state-sponsored and systematic doping made by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
The Russian Anti-Doping Agency has also been suspended from conducting any testing in the wake of the scandal, with Britain's UKAD now conducting most of the tests in Russia.
Meanwhile, the Russian Anti-Doping Agency said on April 21 that six more track-and-field athletes have been banned for various doping offenses.
