At least seven explosions have been reported in and around the Iraqi capital.
More than 20 people have been reported killed and dozens of others injured in a series of bomb explosions in Baghdad.

The Reuters news agency reported at least seven explosions in the Iraqi capital on January 20, and said mostly Shi'ite Muslim neighborhoods were targeted.

Reports said the bloodshed included at least seven fatalities in a bombing at an outdoor market in southern Baghdad.

It was not immediately clear who was responsible.

Hundreds of people have been reported killed in violence so far this year in Iraq, where tensions remain high between majority Shi’a and minority Sunnis.

Tensions have also spiked over the ongoing confrontation in Anbar Province between security forces and Al-Qaeda-linked Sunni militants.

Sunnis say they fear they are being marginalized by the Shi’ite-led government.
