Iraq Hit By Fatal Bombings


At least 11 people have been killed and more than 40 others wounded in bombings in Iraq.

The worst incident happened in the town of Kanaan, Diyala Province, some 75 kilometers northeast of Baghdad when a pair of bombs exploded as Sunni worshippers were leaving a mosque at the end of Friday prayers.

At least 11 people were killed and some 30 wounded.

Minutes later a bomb exploded near a Shi’ite mosque in west Baghdad, wounding at least eight people.

There were also reports of another bombing in Diyala Province that targeted Sunni worshippers on their way from a mosque after Friday prayers.

That explosion left seven people injured.
