Four Dead In Iraqi Suicide Bombing

A suicide car bomber has attacked an Iraqi Army checkpoint north of Baghdad.

Iraqi officials said at least four people -- two soldiers and two civilians -- were killed on February 5 when the attacker drove his explosives-filled car into the checkpoint in the town of Taji.

Police said at least 14 people were wounded.

No one has claimed responsibility.

It is the second suicide attack in Taji in two days.

On February 4, at least 22 people were killed in a suicide attack targeting members of a pro-government Sunni militia.

The attacks come at a time of increased tensions between Iraq's minority Sunni Muslims and the Shi'ite-led government of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.

Thousands of Sunnis have been protesting across the country for weeks, accusing the government of persecuting and politically marginalizing them.
