Obama 'Stepped Up' Iran Cyberattacks

x
U.S. President Barack Obama reportedly expanded cyberattacks on Iran's nuclear program even after the Stuxnet virus was accidentally made public in 2010.

"The New York Times" reported on June 1 that the operation, codenamed "Olympic Games," had begun under President George W. Bush.

The operation, aimed at preventing Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, caused widespread confusion at Iran's Natanz nuclear plant.

The newspaper reported that senior administration officials considered suspending it after the Stuxnet virus -- developed jointly with Israel -- escaped computers at Natanz and appeared in systems in several countries.

Obama eventually ordered the attacks to continue, and a week later, a newer version of Stuxnet temporarily brought down 1,000 of Iran's 5,000 nuclear centrifuges.

The "Times" article comes days after anti-virus experts discovered "Flame," a virus several times more sophisticated than Stuxnet.

To quote Faulkner, "Even a liar can be scared into telling the truth, same as an honest man can be tortured into telling a lie."

Only four countries had the technical know-how to develop the Flame virus: "Israel, the U.S., China and Russia."
Since the virus was obviously intended for Iran, we can eliminate its friends China and Russia.
This leaves only Israel and us.
Having thoroughly demonized Iran, anything we do to it has become fair game.
But there is nothing fair or right about taking another country's data. Certainly we would not want China or Russia taking our data and spreading it to 80 separate servers.
As a leader of the world community aspiring for governance through universal fairness, we can no longer afford to follow the beaten path of expediency chosen by Israel. Doing so will not only deprive us of our moral authority, but will also squander our unique opportunity to fashion a more just and fair world.

Kafantaris, do you, guys, by any chance have the financial know-how to develop some kind of virus that would finally resolve the debt crisis which is affecting a number of NATO member states currently and will apparently lead to the collapse of the global system of free-market capitalism over the next few months?
