Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Pakistan on a visit meant to boost cooperation in the energy sector.
Erdogan will oversee the signing in the city of Lahore of an agreement on Turkish investment in a proposed project by the Pakistani government to build coal-fired power plants.
Erdogan is leading a delegation of ministers, businessmen, and entrepreneurs.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif recently announced several tax breaks for Turkish firms who invest in the country's energy sector.
More agreements on coal and hydropower projects are expected to be signed when Erdogan arrives in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, on December 24.
