(KABUL/PRAGUE)  In an exclusive, wide-ranging interview with RFE/RL, Afghan President Hamid Karzai says he opposes U.S. use of Afghanistan for launching an attack against Iran.

Karzai's comments about Afghanistan's need to "balance its relations with various competing powers" come as Washington and Tehran are engaged in heated rhetoric over Iran's nuclear activities, its recent flexing of missile might, and persistent U.S. accusations that Iranians are fomenting violence in Iraq.
