(Prague, Czech Republic) U.S. NATO Ambassador Kurt Volker was the first official visitor to RFE/RL’s new headquarters on March 13 (photogallery).

Volker met with editors and directors from several broadcast services at RFE/RL's central newsroom. He then visited the new offices of Radio Free Afghanistan and gave an interview to RFE/RL correspondent Abubakar Siddique.

Thank you for the remarkable and important work you do, and the risks you take in bringing free and open news reporting to people around the world.

Volker's entry in the RFE/RL guestbook reads:

“Thank you for the remarkable and important work you do, and the risks you take in bringing free and open news reporting to people around the world.”

RFE/RL is currently relocating
to a new facility in the Prague district of Hagibor, ten minutes from the city center. The five-story, 236,000 sq/ft broadcast center features state-of-the-art multimedia infrastructure, recording studios, interlinking offices, and a modern newsroom. It is also energy-efficient and one of the most secure buildings in Europe.
