Uzbek Migrant Worker Stabbed To Death In Moscow

An Uzbek migrant worker has been found stabbed to death in Moscow.

City police said that the body of the 29-year-old Uzbek man, whose name was not released, was found overnight on January 16-17.

Police said the body showed more than 20 stab wounds.

The man was employed as a cleaner at a taxi company in the Russian capital's north.

Earlier this month, police reported that two Central Asian labor migrants, one from Uzbekistan and one from Kyrgyzstan, had been found killed in Moscow.

Attacks against labor migrants from Central Asia and the Caucasus occur regularly in Russia.

The Moscow-based Sova Center for Information and Analysis, which monitors xenophobia and extremism, said this month that 20 people were killed and dozens injured in ethnically motivated attacks across Russia in 2013.
