Russia's Foreign Minister Starts Two-Day Trip To Minsk

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is traveling to Minsk on June 15 for a two-day official visit that includes talks about Ukraine’s crisis with Belarusian Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makey.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry says Lavrov will focus attention on aspects of the European Union’s Eastern Partnership program in connection with Ukraine’s crisis.

It says Lavrov’s talks also will be devoted to “a detailed analysis of bilateral and international issues, including cooperation in the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Union State of Russia and Belarus,” and the United Nations, as well as relations with the EU and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

It said the talks would take into account “the implementation of agreements reached” by Moscow and Minsk during the first half of 2014.
