The retired Ukrainian soccer star Andriy Shevchenko has been offered the Ukrainian national team coaching job.
The post was recently vacated when Oleh Blokhin moved on to coach Dynamo Kyiv.
The 36-year-old Shevchenko has not said yet whether he will accept the offer or not.
Shevchenko played 111 times for Ukraine, scoring 48 goals for the national side.
He was named European player of the year in 2004.
Over an 18 year career, Shevchenko played for Dynamo Kyiv, AC Milan, and Chelsea.
He retired after the Euro 2012 tournament played in his home country and Poland.
