Aliyev In Turkey To Discuss Bilateral Relations

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Turkey on his first trip abroad since his reelection last month.

Aliyev was due to hold talks with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The strengthening of bilateral economic cooperation is high on the agenda.

Azerbaijan's state oil company Socar is expected to build an oil refinery in Turkey by 2016 with a refining capacity for 10 million tons.

Also, Socar is building a container port in Turkey whose cost is estimated at $400 million.

Reports say a number of other projects, such as the construction of a trans-Anatolian pipeline, are also on the agenda of the talks.
