Drone Strike Kills At Least Five In South Waziristan

Pakistani security officials, speaking under condition of anonymity, say a drone strike in South Waziristan has killed at least five militants.

The June 3 attack targeted a house belonging to a militant commander in a town near the Afghan border.

According to Pakistani officials, two drones fired four missiles at the target.

The strike was against a group of militants who were gathered to offer condolences to the brother of a militant commander killed in a drone strike on June 2.

The United States is suspected of carrying out the drone strikes in Pakistan.

Pakistan's government ordered the drone strikes stopped after a cross-border strike from foreign forces in Afghanistan killed 24 Pakistani soldiers late last year.

The United States refused to stop the drone strikes, but did reduce them until recently.
