Iran has condemned the U.S. administration for removing the Iranian exile group Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) from its list of foreign terrorist organizations.

Iran's Foreign Ministry described the decision, effective as of September 28, as "a violation of America's legal and international obligations" that could threaten U.S. interests.

The statement added that the move "will bring U.S. responsibility for past, present, and future terrorist operations” by the group.

MKO, also known as the People's Mujahedin Organization of Iran, is opposed to Iran's clerical regime.

Its members fought alongside former Iraqi ruler Saddam Hussein's forces in the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq War.

The group had been on the U.S. blacklist since 1997.

is there any surprise in US government decision? MKO is a Sunni terrorist organization and US government always supports Sunni thugs. US government is the major sponsor of terrorism

How are they a Sunni terrorist group? They're Iranians so most likely Shia but in any case their principal characteristics are that they are inclined toward violence, mendacity, fanaticism and marxism-communism, which is the icing on their poisoned cake (they say they've changed). Likely they would impose a Putin rather than a Pol-Pot-style regime on Iran this time around, if given a chance. I find the Democrats - like European socialists - are lethal for Iran: first the witless Carter who undermined the Shah, and now this one. Certain Iranians like myself think they have seen the worst since 1979 (I remember people saying in the 1990s that nobody could be worse than Rafsanjani!), but no, Iran keeps deteriorating and far worse would come if these vile fanatics were ever to return.

The terrorist Iranian regime now sees how the delisting of a democratic Shi'ite Moslem organisation and its increased acts of resistance in Iran against the regime in cooperation with other Iranian democratic forces as well as its vast international support by the wolrld community will soon topple it. Iran will be free, secular, democratic and free of nuclear arms.
